About the Presenter:
Ehud I. Assia, MD
Ehud Assia, graduated the Sackler School of Medicine at the Tel-Aviv University in 1980 (Magna Cum Laude) and has a Master degree in Ophthalmology (Summa Cum Laude, 1989). He did his residency in Ophthalmology at the Goldschleger Eye Institute at the Sheba Medical Center, and 2-year fellowship at the Center for Intraocular Lens Research (David J. Apple, MD) at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, USA. In 1994 he became the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Meir Medical Center, Kfar-Saba. Dr Assia is Full Professor at the Tel-Aviv University; and was the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Sackler School of Medicine between 1998-2002. He founded the Laboratory of Experimental Microsurgery at the Meir Medial Center. He published 117 peer-reviewed papers and additional 30 publications and 21 chapters in books. Dr Assia serves as a reviewer and board member of several journals in ophthalmology and is the Chief Editor of the local journal in ophthalmology (“Israeli Journal of Eye Update”). Prof Assia is also the Medical Director of the Ein Tal Eye Center, the biggest private eye center in Israel
