Simar J. Singh is an MD Candidate and member of the inaugural class of 2013 at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University in Miami, FL. He received MS and BS degrees with Honors in Biological Sciences from Stanford University in Stanford, CA. As an undergraduate, he developed an interest in ophthalmology while studying immune-based methods to improve retinal ganglion cell regeneration. He recently underwent corneal collagen cross-linking to correct post-Lasik kerectasia. He hopes to one day enter academic medicine and pursue a career that combines patient care with clinical research.
