WORK EXPERIENCE

As an MBBS student, I worked with both outpatients and in-ward patients. My job included taking medical history, performing physical examination, formulating possible differential diagnosis, and discussing it with senior residents as well as consultants. I was exposed to number of common medical cases like COPD, Pneumonia, IHD, stroke, DM, tuberculosis, hepatitis as well as several other uncommon and interesting cases.


As a postgraduate resident in ophthalmology, I worked in a Western Regional Institute of India, which had 6 subspeciality units, and had a vast exposure to a variety of ophthalmic cases. I dealt with lots of patients with systemic illnesses and ophthalmic complaints like hyperthyroidism, rheumatoid arthritis, SLE and others. Duties included managing outpatient clinics, in-ward patients. Performed ocular surgeries like cataract surgery, therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty, entropion and ectropion correction, dacryocystorhinostomy and assisted surgeries like retinal detachment, orbitotomies, trabeculectomy.
